Privacy Policy
Cotton is built so your closet stays on your phone. This policy explains exactly what leaves it, and why.
Photos and closet data
Photos you add are processed on your device by Apple’s Vision framework. The cutouts, colors, outfits and wear history are stored only in Cotton’s storage on your iPhone, and are included in your iCloud or computer backup if you have backups turned on. Cotton has no accounts, and we never receive your closet.
Studio polish (optional)
When you tap Polish on a piece, that one image is sent to our server and to Google’s Gemini API to be redrawn as a product photo, and the result is sent back to your phone. We don’t store the image. Google processes it under its paid API terms, which don’t use it to train models. Nothing else from your closet is ever sent.
Purchases
Subscriptions and purchases are handled entirely by Apple. To count your monthly Studio polishes, our server asks Apple whether your purchase is active using its transaction number. We never see your name, Apple ID or payment details.
Analytics
We use PostHog to count anonymous product events, such as “an outfit was worn” or “the paywall was shown”. Events carry a random identifier and never include photos or closet contents. We don’t track you across other apps or websites, and we never sell data.
Deleting your data
Settings → Erase closet deletes everything Cotton stored on your device. Deleting the app does the same.
Children
Cotton is not directed at children under 13.
